Several weeks ago, we had another membership Sunday. This was our first Sunday with our new membership option of being a community member. (Go to this post for more about our membership options.) We were blessed to take in 16 new members. Two people didn't even tell me they wanted to join the church, they just walked right up to the front when I asked for all of those who are joining the church today to come to the front. Most of the new members chose the "community member" option. Many of these are people who are already integrated into the live and leadership of our church, but just aren't comfortable joining the Church of the Nazarene. I hope this will help them commit more fully to our church and thereby participate more fully in the work of God in our world.
Our international character shone boldly through the variety of our new members. We had people from South Africa (2), Cameroon, China, Canada (2) , USA (4), South Korea (4), and New Zealand (2).
We also added our oldest and youngest members. ChanGi, a KNU junior, joined our community and the Church of the Nazarene, and Shawn (the Chinese student who was recently baptized) is also a KNU student. Charlie Park is our oldest member at 70 years old.
I'm pumped about our church!
